Andrew Saikal-Skea

Andrew has been supporting clients with financial advice for over a decade, after moving to Canberra from Scotland.
Prior to founding Saikal-Skea Independent Financial Advice, Andrew served as a financial adviser and leader at one of Australia's largest industry funds and a boutique advisory.
​
Andrew has deep specialist knowledge in CSC defined benefits (including the MSBS, DFRDB, PSS and CSS) as well as tax planning, investments, insurance, social security and broader superannuation.
​
Andrew has been recognised as a Fellow of the Institute of Managers and Leaders and has previously served as Chairperson of the Financial Planning Association of Australia, ACT Chapter.

Alex Tetreault
Senior Associate

Alex holds a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Financial Planning and has garnered more than 4 years of experience working in the financial advice profession.
As a Senior Associate, Alex’s role is to implement advice, formulate strategic financial reports and provide practice management.
​
Alex has also been appointed to the FAAA Emerging Professionals Committee for 2025, where he will utilise his passion, dedication and vision to encourage professional growth and development within the financial planning industry across Australia.
Originally from Montreal, Canada, Alex is a Goaltender for the CBR Brave Ice hockey club and was a part of winning the National Championship with the club in 2018, 2022 and 2024. He has also represented the Australian National Team at numerous world championship events.
Alex is undertaking his professional year candidacy, with aspirations of becoming a qualified financial adviser in late-2025 at Saikal-Skea Independent Financial Advice.

Alisha joined us after completing her Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Financial Planning and is currently completing a Master of Financial Planning.

Alisha has gained more than 3 years of experience within financial advice.
​
As an associate, Alisha's role is to assist in the preparation and implementation of advice and to support our clients.
​
Alisha enjoys international travel, and in between Pilates and cooking, is currently exploring Canberra and its surrounds.
Karien Smith
Senior Client Service Officer

After a 20-year banking career in South Africa, Karien relocated to Australia and moved into a treasury management role for almost a decade.
This strong financial background, along with a Diploma of Financial Planning, has enabled Karien to become an excellent senior client service officer.
Karien’s role in our team is to support our clients with seamless service and project manage advice implementation, which is something that she has over 7 years of experience delivering here in Canberra.

Outside of the office Karien is an avid reader and is passionate about yoga, exploring Tasmania and enjoying interesting restaurants.
