Investment & ETF Advice Canberra

Independent investment advice from someone with no fund to sell you

Search "best index fund" and every answer seems to come from a company that makes the fund, runs the platform, or gets paid to list it. We don't sell a product and we don't charge a percentage of your money. We recommend investments that are suitable for your situation as part of a comprehensive plan to meet your objectives.

1%

Only around 1% of financial planners in Australia are independent. We are one of them.

Independent means no commissions, no kickbacks, and no ownership by a bank or super fund.

Buying an ETF is easy. Working out how it fits the rest of your life is not.

Access to investments today is far better than any time in the past. Statistically, a low-cost index fund is genuinely a sensible core investment strategy, but there are questions you should always be asking.

  • How much should be in shares versus safer assets?

  • How does this sit with your super, your tax, your mortgage and your retirement timeline?

  • Is chasing last year's best-performing fund a good idea or a trap?

It can be hard to find unbiased answers. Fund managers want you to invest in their funds. Brokers want you trading on their platform. Comparison sites are paid to list. Almost everyone offering "help" has something to sell, and the advice bends toward the product.

Independent advice is different. We do not run a fund, take commissions or charge a fee that grows as a percentage of your balance. So when we look at how your money should be invested, we are looking at what we think is best for your situation.

How we build a portfolio

We start with your life. Your goals, your timeframe, how you actually feel when markets drop, and everything else in your picture: super, tax, debt, income, what you are investing for and when you will need it.

Our portfolio recommendations follow this discovery work as part of a comprehensive plan as products picked in isolation are rarely a good outcome.
